Smart rooms were really cool. But ensure that if you are sharing a room with someone that you are comfortable with them, as shower is in middle of the room with glass doors. Rooms are compact but ideal for 2 people.
The rooms could do with a little more storage area. TV has all the latest movies such a plus. Beds are massive and really comfortable. All and all a really good stay, just a little far from the city but there is a tram right outside and the metro 5 mins away.
Second time I have stayed here and the second time I came it was my birthday which they decorated the room (upon special requirements of knowing it was my bday) and gave me drink tokens too! Coming from the airport it's so near the train station I think it takes 10 mins from the airport to the hot , not long at all! Check in very easy but staff there to help if needed, just round the corne from tram stop! However it is far out from the centre of Amsterdam but a quick tram journey or a long walk and you are soon there! The beauty of Amsterdam is you don't notice the time or how long it takes as it's such a beautiful city! Rooms amazing, fresh towels, a safe, hairdryer! And of course you don't need to get out of bed to do anything as you have your control on the iPad for that Would stay again!
Bed is so comfortable, slept so well which is really unusual for me when I go away. Troy in the bar was so attentive, he made some wicked cocktails. Mood pad, was ace. The pad in general is such a good feature and one I will look out for in other stays as it was really handy.
This was my first trip to Amsterdam, and the hotel was perfect. A very well laid out room and I found all the staff extremely polite and helpful. A special mention must go to Tahiba, Ben, Troy and Clinton, their customer service skills are excellent.
I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend people stay here :)
Even if the rooms are a bit on the cramped side, I must say they're quite livable, with everything minimized and efficiently laid out. I was especially happy with the quality of the bath towels, large and with a high thread count.
Good rain shower setup, nice pressure and hot. Bar is good too, not too pricey, nice wine selection. Restaurant is allright, tried the yellow curry with tofu, which went down just fine. Location is great, a short walk to tram 5, and the other way a few hundred meters to South WTC station. Try metro 52 to Pijp station, awesome neighborhood for food and chilling.
Really enjoyed my stay here! The staff were super friendly, the vibe of the place is very quirky from the moment you stepped in the door, and the room was super comfortable. I loved the bed, it's huge and up against the window.
I would call the room a 'smart room' - there were lots of tech perks of the room, like underfloor heating, loads of movies to watch, the ability to stream content to the tv, a convenient charging cube with USBs etc, an iPad to control almost everything including the colour of the LED lights around the room, even the blinds etc etc. I wasn't quite as keen on the shower and particularly toilet tubes - might be a bit awkward if you're staying with your partner! However we were chatting with staff and they mentioned there might be refurb on the horizon, I hope they keep the beds though!
This hotel stay was great, to the point that it's tempting to stay in your comfy hotel room and watch movies instead of go out!! Ideally, since it is a little bit more expensive than budget, I'd factor in some time to enjoy that if you're staying here!
Over the years we've stayed a few times at Citizen M in Amsterdam South and at Schiphol and we've never been disappointed.
Staff is always friendly, helpful and makes you feel at home.
The location is excellent as well as a simple tram ride gets you to the center of town and you actually see a nice part of Amsterdam on the way.
There are also some really nice restaurants, like Blauw (Indonesian restaurant), within easy walking distance.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my fiancee early January would definitely recommend. Easy to find get off the plane walk to the station and we bought 3 day unlimited travel passes for €28 each well worth it though.
Jumped on a train (or metro) whichever you prefer probably metro is easier (52 blue line to zuid) and from there its about a 2 minute walk under the underpass turn right and there you find it. Takes about 15 mins on metro to Dam square easier to get off at Rockin and walk from there.
Hotel was very modern and futuristic staff were really helpful especially Alex who was brilliant helping us with advice on where to go etc.
Room was ultra modern with ipad controlling everything. Toilet in middle of the room with frosted glass was abit odd but other than that a great stay would most definitely come back
