The hotel is conveniently located behind the New Tate Gallery and just a short walk from The Shard or St. Paul’s. The Rooms are of adequate size and very very clean. The bathrooms are in the middle of the room so that’s something to keep in mind.
I love the iPad controls, the mood lighting and the very efficient housekeeping. Staff is friendly and takes care if your needs. Would always return.
Great overnight stay, huge and brilliantly comfortable bed, clean room, decent breakfast, quirky decor, little bit gothic in tone and colour but made for lovely stay. Not sure about the pillow doll at the end of the bed!
I had booked CitizenM Bankside in all honesty because of the price but the room far exceeded expectations. It’s smaller than other hotel rooms but innovative and very comfortable - can’t recommend enough!
This is our third CitizenM Hotel stay (we also stayed in the Amsterdam and Paris CDG locations) and it is a formula hotel, so they are all the same and we knew what to expect. CitizenM is very different from other hotels.
It is ultra-modern with self-check-in, and food is available 24/7 from the self-serve food/bar area. The rooms are very small, but efficient, (I would suggest knowing your roommate very well before staying there together.) I’m not sure it’s for everyone, but CitizenM is fine for us. The service is great, if you need to interact with a staff member, and it’s very clean and fairly comfortable. I recommend it, but go there knowing it is a different kind of hotel.
Love this hotel’s concept-minimalist but with lots of great details to make it a lovely stay.
Room & shower were clean & super relaxing.
Great location for getting around everywhere, with friendly, helpful staff.
Stylish, super clean and so quiet you forget you are in central London.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room layout perfect.
We loved the super king bed and the lights and in room media.
Ideal after a long day of sightseeing.
Looking to book again!
Stayed here for two nights over new year. Was good location for most things we needed.
The rooms were cosy but clean and functional. Had an iPad to control everything, which, if not careful could be a little embarrassing.
Breakfast was good and reasonable price for area.
Staff really helpful.
Would stay again
I would say this hotel is more of a 3.5 stars review but TripAdvisor doesn't offer half stars option so I rounded up.
My husband and I stayed here for five nights. Check-in was easy, the staff was super-friendly and helpful.
The room albeit small is well-laid out and love the tech-friendly concept. My husband (who is 6'4") and I were able to maneuver about without much issue.
Love the XL bed and the window view -- nice that they offer remote-controlled blackout shades. The rainfall shower is wonderful and having eco-friendly, delightfully scented full-sized AM/PM shampoo is great!
Closet space is limited but you can store your luggage and clothes in the pull-out storage drawers under the bed -- ample room!
Loved that we could control the ambiance of the room lighting and tv screensaver via their in-room iPad. Free wifi and movies -- what's not to love?!?
Lobby: love the design and vibe!! Definitely a great working space.
The food was excellent -- we tried their delicious jams and croissants, snacked on some tasty desserts and on our last day had a full breakfast. Great strong teas and coffees too.
The only cons (minor inconveniences):
Housekeeping did not check if the shampoo bottles were full during our stay -- the AM shampoo was pretty near empty, we defaulted to using the PM version. Also, did not empty out the small bathroom trash tin regularly (we resorted to propping its open to show it was full).
One of our pillowcases was showing a bit of wear.
We found the area between bed and window was a bit dusty.
Wifi when streaming from our own device would cut out a lot.
Otherwise, we had a great stay. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to the Tate, Borough Market and within walking distance of many neighborhoods!
