Superbly located just off Southwark Road in London’s Bankside, it was 8 minutes from Borough Market/London Bridge 5 minutes from Shakespeare’s Globe and about 10 minutes from Waterloo.
There’s a great bar, although quiet when we stayed and break out areas for people to sit with their laptops and work in a funky environment.
The bedrooms are contentious, no more than 8 feet wide but beautifully laid out, I can understand that they won’t suit everyone. We weren’t here to spend time in the room though and the bed is huge and very comfortable with a big TV at the bottom of the bed (which fills the width of the room). Everything is controlled by the iPad on the bedside table and that won’t suit everyone either but I love a toy like that. Just remember to put it back on charge before you leave the room as ours was dead when we returned. The shower is also great, with a rainfall option.
The staff are friendly and helpful and staying here was an absolute joy.
Love the film options as well..
Great spot. Right behind Tate Modern and short walk to borough marked. Lots of lovely places to eat nearby. Short walk to the tube/train station. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Quiet room, clean and effective.
Would stay again.
Loved our stay here! The staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. The “living areas” offer a variety of modern, comfortable spaces that made us want to spend time there with a cocktail or a coffee.
The room is really small but very cleverly designed with enough space to put your own things.
The iPad controls are a fun and quirky touch, and I liked the mood lighting options. I didn’t miss the kettle like some are complaining about - as a rule I never use hotel room kettles (ewww)! There is perfectly decent coffee at the canteen. The bed was huge and really comfy. It was also surprisingly quiet given the busy (but handy) location!
This hotel was great value - it felt like a more expensive place.
The only thing I would say is, these rooms are really only for people who are very comfortable with each other as there’s not much privacy (the bathroom walls being sort of like frosted glass). Also, I really wish they did family rooms! We really want to return with our 2 kids as they’d love it here too.
Very cool, hipster hotel. Check-in is all done automatically, so it’s pretty quick and efficient.
Rooms are modern but small. Feels like I’m staying in some very trendy student halls of residence! Don’t get me wrong though, beds were very comfy and shower was nice.
Just felt quite cramped for 2 people with large suitcases. For short stays this place is fine.
Location is perfect for getting to borough market, the shard and Tate.
My husband and I loved this place. Literally cannot wait to stay again - and we rarely repeat hotels. Staff were like a breath of fresh air, so friendly and smiley and attentive. Rooms are brilliant, although they’re small everything seems so spacious such as the huge bed and lovely shower.
Lots of nice little personal touches. Fantastic location in a nice area with lots around. So well priced. It exceeded our expectations. Which citizenM shall we go to next!
At least a hotel chain that uses tech to enhance the very speedy check in and checkout experience. Great staff on hand to help. Food on evening and for breakfast reasonably prices, well selected and fresh.
Common space superb for hanging gout or working. The tech in room great especially the free entertainment. But a bit pod like.
Uber cool techie room and hotel facilities, excellent breakfast too at a cost that wouldn’t break the bank in London. Just a few minutes walk from the river and the heart of the city. Short walk to Tate Modern, across Millenium Bridge and St Paul’s.
All in all a great hotel slap bang in the heart of London city.
Very good value, centrally located, and walking distance to many sights (Tate Modern, St.Paul’s, Tower of London, Borough Market, Shad Thames). It is right across the street from a M&S food hall with amazing groceries and prepared food at reasonable prices.
The neighbourhood is very vibrant. Very hip and cool!
