The hotel location is brilliant, right above tower hill underground. The hotel has a wonderful view overlooking the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Check in using the PC's in reception didn't work ( error on screen ) and a staff member had to check us in.
All we were given was our key cards and room number, no explanation at all about the hotel facilities or breakfast?.
Plenty of lifts to our room on floor 5. We had paid for a Tower view and the view was amazing but the Glass on closer inspection was filthy. Our room was pod like and very small ( which we expected ) the iPad to control TV, lights, air conditioning, blinds etc was good and easy to use. We had a drink in the cloud bar on level 7 which although expensive it had brilliant views of the tower. Our sleep wasn't brilliant as the pillows provided we're awful and flat and it would have been good if CitizenM had provided more? We both had stiff necks and backs the following morning. Room wasn't that clean and TV was very dusty and the screen had not been cleaned in ages, we did watch a free movie that evening but it crashed and we had to restart and the audio sync kept going out every 10 minutes so a quick pause, count to 10 then carry on sorted for a few minutes. Noise wisethe hotel was not that busy so at least the hotel was fairly quiet at night. We also paid for breakfast £30 for the two of us and it was horrible, we did come down fairly early 7.30am but alot of the tables had lone business guests sitting at them eating breakfast and in their laptops. Staff should have been asking them to sit on the large center table instead of taking up tables for 4. The cooked breakfast was marginal as the Sausages had been cooked to death and we're like old leather, Scrabble egg over cooked and extremely watery. Bacon very greasy. The cold breakfast was okay and at least it was orange juice provided not squash. Check out was good and the PC's we're working this time.
Friendly people, and great location. Even though it is located above the Tower Hill Tube Station you do not hear any noise from it. There is a lot of things to see that is within walking distance and close to both the Tube and bus stops.
I don’t think it is possible for a hotel in London to have a more perfect location than the ‚citizenM Tower of London‘. Not only is it located right next to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, but also right on top of the Tower Hill station with Central and District Line services and just a 2-minute walk away from the DLR station with a direct connection to Canary Wharf and London City airport.
The hotel itself is really modern, one might even say pretty much a prototype of a 21st century hotel.
There is no reception in the classical sense, but computer terminals where you can check in and out. Nevertheless there is always enough service personnel around should you have any other requests.
The rooms itself are also really modern with all the lights and other amenities operated via tablet. The room size is ok, although not exactly huge – but afterall this is Central London.
I absolutely loved the bed, which has one of the best mattresses Ive slept on anywhere on the planet. The WiFi connection was really fast as well.
Overall definitely a recommendation for anyone looking for a super-central location in London with a modern twist.
Excellent location for tube, bus and river services. Breakfast is a bit pricey at £15 per person per night but there is a restaurant down the road that is cheaper with a better selection. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room so we brought our own travel kettle so we could have our "cuppa" in the morning.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and were able to assist with the check in process. Nice big bed but difficult to get in and out of without clambering over the other person because it is up against the window.
Location near tower of london and just neat the tube.
Excellent breakfast & coffee. free movies and friendly staff
Exceptional design : very high tech in the room and interesting design of the hotel.
Not as good:
Room is small , bathroom should be more isolated , water pressure should improve
Simply amazing ! Discover and rate yourself . The whole interior is sublime, the views breathtaking and the stuff as lovely as you could imagine. Stay here and enjoy the city of London at its very best!
CitizenM is a very nice hotel in the middle of London. We were supprised about the great view from our room. We employees were very kind en helped us with everything. This whas my first time in london.
When i go back i will defintely stay in this hotel again. sorry for my enlgish btw haha
This is a lovely hotel with a fantastic location. Drinks in the bar with a view of the Tower of London couldn't be beaten. They've thought of everything in the rooms, which are spotless and the bed is very comfortable.
Only minor criticism is that there is no space at the end of the bed - so if my husband had needed to go to the loo in the night, he would have needed to roll across me - not comfortable! We'll cope with that minor niggle though as everything was fab!
